Every piece of jewellery has a story. I intend to create pieces that will become a treasured part of yours - designed to love for a lifetime and pass down through generations.

I can trace the beginnings of Katie Mullally Jewellery right back to my childhood. From my Dad’s Irish roots, my Granny’s antique silverware shop, and my Uncle’s part in writing Jackson’s (the ‘hallmark bible’), my Uncle, Michael McAleer, wrote the Irish section. The Katie Mullally brand has become a natural extension of my fondest family memories - rooted in history, heritage, and hallmarked silver.

This jewellery is part of my story, and from the moment you open your new Katie Mullally charm, it becomes a part of yours.

All my collections have been inspired by a magical corner of the world that holds a special place in my heart - Ireland.

My Irish heritage means the world to me. I consider it to be the greatest gift that I could have received from my Dad. There is beauty, culture, tradition and wonder to be found around every corner of Ireland - from its rolling green hills, coastal mountains and fascinating history, to its friendly people ready to greet you with a smile, a Guinness and a story.

In the 70s, granny owned an antique silverware shop on London’s St. Christopher’s Place. I have fond memories of working there with her when I left school, polishing silver. She’s the true inspiration behind the KMM brand, and the reason I do what I do today. It was here that I discovered my love for silver, and where I learned the value of a tiny but telling mark – a hallmark.

A hallmark is similar to an artist’s signature. It’s a personal stamp on their work of art, and your guarantee that your new treasure is made from the 925 silver. This tiny mark may be small, but it can tell you everything you need to know about your new treasure: the date, the purity of silver, the assay office where it was marked, and the designer.

Katie Mullally charms over 7.78 grams are sent to either the Dublin Assay Office or London Assay Office where they’re tested for their level of silver. Only then are they stamped with the signature KMM hallmark – guaranteeing that your new jewellery is an investment to treasure forever, as well as a genuine piece of sterling silver designed to last you a lifetime.

Because I learnt from my grandmother the importance of a hallmark I decided to send all the Katie Mullally charms to be hallmarked as I believe it is an important part of your jewellery and the history to your jewellery, the KMM hallmark is exclusive to my brand. I initially started working with the London Assay Office and have recently started working with the Dublin Assay Office.
